Camp is More Than a Place
We kicked off our Camp Esperanza 2021 Online experience via CIMTAP (Camp Is More Than A Place) by hosting a Pickup Parade at Children’s Health on Saturday, July 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Approximately 40 counselors and medical staff volunteered at the event at which 100 families drove through the parking garage to receive the following items:
- Supplies for Arts & Crafts
- T-shirts donated by Children’s Health
- Snacks and Bottled Water
- Kits to make S’mores
- Goodie Bags donated by Children’s Health
- Camp Esperanza Swag (towels, bracelets, caps)
- Cabin-Specific Goodie Bags
Following the Pick-up Parade for the full camp, we hosted a graduation ceremony for the seniors who would have graduated in 2020. Four seniors and their families attended the ceremony taking place at Noon on July 24, and were honored and recognized individually. A specific counselor or medical staff member shared fond memories and stories about each senior, after which the senior and their family stood on the red carpet for commemorative photos. Woo Hoo to our Seniors 2020!
